Moxlayer-LP‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Drops is a sterile eye drop formulation that consists of Loteprednol Etabonate (a gentle anti-inflammatory corticosteroid) and Moxifloxacin (a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic). The combined formulation is used extensively to treat eye infections, inflammation after surgery, redness, and bacterial conjunctivitis. Moxlayer-LP Drops are anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, thus they calm the inflamed tissue and make bacteria responsible for the infection disappear. Because of its excellent safety profile and quick therapeutic effect, it is a great choice by ophthalmologists for both adults and children, as ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌needed.

Mechanism of Action

Loteprednol Etabonate

  • A corticosteroid that works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators.
  • Reduces swelling, redness, itching, and discomfort in the eyes.
  • Acts locally with minimal systemic absorption, making it safer for long-term ophthalmic use compared to other steroids.

Moxifloxacin

  • A fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by blocking bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
  • Prevents bacteria from dividing and repairing, leading to rapid elimination.
  • Effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria causing eye infections.

Together, they provide anti-inflammatory + antibacterial action for faster recovery.
